Turkish President felt a thaw in relations between Iran and the USA

A the moment is felt a thaw in relations between Iran and the USA, declared Turkish President Abdullah Gul while addressed the leaders of the Economic Coordination Organization (ECO) summit in Iran . At the same time Abdullah Gul underlined after his meetings with Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei that it is impossible to overcome problems between these two countries, existing over 30 years in a blink.

The Turkish president declared that he had seen that both Iran and the United States had the good will to better their relations: “Meetings were very positive and fruitful. I have noticed intention of both sides to change the situation into a positive. We will work in this direction. Such intention is already a significant development”.

Touching upon the forthcoming visit of Barack Obama to Turkey, scheduled on April, 6, Gul underscored that the indicated visit would take place before the representatives of official Ankara visit the USA. According to him, there are common interests between Turkey and the USA: “if correctly lay the foundation of our relations in beginning of new age, it will be possible to overcome long distance”, Iranian ANS TV channel quoted Abdullah Gul.

Abdullah Gul also registered the beginning of new age with Obama’s rise to the power, underlining that former administration made decision individually, advantage was done on individual implementation of these decisions and intrusion of ideas on others. “And the office is entered by those, who declared the intention to conduct a dialog with everyone”,- specified he.
